Excellent turtle soup. Shrimp remoulade - shrimp was overcooked. Entree - trout meuniere - the sauce a bit too oily, the crust tasted like fried flour. Good wine selection. Crawfish maison was heavenly. Service was excellent. A bit too pricey for an average meal, with a few excellent exceptions.

A wonderful choice in NOLA
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/03/07
One doesn't have a choice in NOLA, one has a dilemma when it comes to choosing where to eat. Here's my pitch. This is a classic restaurant that delivers. It respects the city's history and tradition. The service is top-notch and the food is just as good. Stories abound about restaurants in this city and elsewhere that have matured and ...
My wife and I decided to dine at Galatoire's and we did not have an enjoyable experience. The service was average at best. The food was ver, very bland. The cost was a little expensive for such poor quality of food and service. Save your money and dine elswhere.

A New Orleans Tradition
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/06
For the ultimate New Orleans dining experience, this is one of the top places to go. Its moderately expensive, and certainly not the po'boy sort of place, but the food is exquisite, the service excellent. The only real downside to dining here is it is VERY loud (part of its traditional ambience, I've heard) and very crowded (caution, ...
There is no way to better enjoy New Orleans than a meal at Galatoire's. The staff really appreciates providing exceptional service and takes obvious pride when you enjoy the experience. Five stars just seems inadequate.

When in N.O., a must go
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/14/05
When I visit New Orleans, Galatoire's is on the schedule every time. Fantastic service, great atmosphere, etc. What can I say, it is always an event. Even when I am just slipping in to the upstairs bar for a beverage, we always find our way to a table to dine. Try the Caf Brult with dessert to add a great finish to the experience.
