It's an old restaurant and bar in metairie. The restaurant and bar are separate. The reastaurant has good breakfast and lunch and closes at 2:00PM. I like the old New Orleans style neighborhood bars that Gennaro's is without having to go to the city. I go to Gennaro's Bar pretty often during the day for happy hour longnecks and play ...

Went there on a whim, Saturday. Had some great singers, some horrible, some in between. No booing , even for the worst singers, and believe me, there were some HORRIBLE ones. The good thing about that, is if you want to sing and lack confidence, it's gonna be hard to sound worse than the worst "singers" there, LOL!

Gennaro's has long been known as "the place to be" for St. Patrick's day in Old Metairie. The building is a classic 1930's restaurant and bar, on the corner of Metairie Road and Causeway Blvd (under the Causeway overpass), about a block off of U.S. 61 (Airline Highway). Best darn po-boy in Metairie. Seafood platter is ...

Really much better than I expected. Some of the girls said "let's go sing karaoke". I said okay, and expected us to go to Fat City or the Quarter. NOOOooo... We ended up pulling into the parking area in front of Gennaro Bar in Metairie and I said "What a dump". I half expected someone to yell "NORM" when we ...

My friends and I heard about this place from the Whiskey Bar down the street in Fat City. The DJ there said he goes to Gennaro when he is not working. That was good enough for me. The drink prices were okay and the shot was more than a shot, if you know what I mean. BUZZ CITY. They need more than one bartender, I think. I was a bit ...

Saturday night found us at a corner neighborhood eatery in Metarie. Much quieter than the French Quarter Area of New Orleans, (also much closer to the hotel). Food was average Diner quality. The fried seafood was seasoned well and had large portions. I had the mixed platter with some kind of fish, shrimp and some fried oysters, too many french ...

Funny, Steve Z is good friends with Bill Millar, maybe that is why he gave the show such a good review. Gee, I wonder if Steve Knight is really Steve Z? And what is a Bobby Blaze?
I went and didn't think the show was much to talk about, just a bunch of wanna be's. Good luck guys.
The food and bar is excellent. Just the show isn't much to talk about.

Great po-boys

My husband's grandfather used to hang out here. We finally tried it (we live out of state) and it had the best roast beef po-boy that we've had in NO.

Pleasant Casual Atmosphere

A Lunch Hotspot because it is great value with mid range prices. Very broad variety of foods served. Also, a teriffic place for an after work drink with friends or to watch the game.
