it's pretty good. there are some incapable baristas, but most of them are really good at their job. I like that the food is all home-made and how friendly the atmosphere is, especially after you've come in more than a few times. some of the employees remember my drink, and that definitely makes it feel more personal.

I have been going to Java Co. very regularly for the past 3 years. I have always been treated very respectfully and served in a timely manner. The coffee is great. It surpasses any other coffee that I have tried. The barista use all locally roasted beans for the drip and espresso and the drinks are true coffee, cot a cup of liquid sugar. The ...

Java Co is the only place in Kirksville to study and drink coffee. Unfortunately, the prices always seem to be going up. Additionally, the service is incredibly slow, they seem to be continuously understaffed, the food is completely inconsistent, as well as the coffee drinks. I keep going back because it's better than being locked up in the ...

Dubbed "Java Co", Washington Street Java Company is the place to study (for Truman students and KCOM students) over good coffee and cafe style food in Kirksville. Since they are open a little later now than they used to be, it's a good casual date spot also.

small town rude? anyone
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/04/07
I wish there was more to say, the coffee was unremarkable, the service was sad enough, that if I wasn't with another professional I would have walked out. To top it all off, I have paid less for far better in many large metropolis areas, and I thought it was the people in small town Missouri that made the difference? An insulting experience just the same
Decent coffee and a good magnetic business on an otherwise anemic town square. They'd get more after-movie dates if they had better desserts.

Best for coffee, drinks...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/16/06
Their coffee, teas & smoothies are some of the best around, but their food needs work. Their cookies, scones tend to be dry. Their homemade soups & quiche aren't bad, same with their cheesecakes. Although there are moments when the latter can be underbaked...Oh, their bagels are very good. Try the cream cheese with vegetables & garlic. Addicting! Fairly good value for money & a good place to sit & relax & read &/or study in.
