A St. Louis ClassicCarl's has served burgers and root beer to 4 generations of my family. It is the type of place you take your son/daughter to after a soccer game.

Getting Better Every Decade Since I Remember It FiIn the 50's the stools were open air-panels folded down to close up at night.
Little mugs for little kids and still the same very good root beer made there .
Carl was friendly but gruff at the same time .

Best Burgers in the StateCarl's has, by far, the best burger and the best root beer in St. Louis. The only place in all of Missouri that has comparable burgers is Booche's bar in Columbia.
