I deleted my old, good review. I used to really like Moonlight, but recently was disappointed. We called and ordered a pan of Mostaccioli for carryout. Got it home, it was cold in the middle. The pan was not even half full, and there wasn't enough sauce to cover the pasta. I'm highly dissatisfied; apparently, this place isn't what it used to be.OVERALL

I placed a take out order that they failed to have ready even two hours after it was promised. I'll never make the mistake of trusting them again ...with take out or anything else! Be very careful of doing business with this place.OVERALL

I would like to tell you of their shady catering. I book a room at Moonlight for a surprise birthday party. They showed me the nice room plenty of room. On the day of the event we were put into the smaller room. From a former employee's point of view, I rate the place poor because the owners and his sons are real jerks that think they have some kind of godly authority over you as their employee. Their food is good in my opinion but they need to treat their employees much better and with with respect. One of the owner's son stays drunk all evening ...SHOW FULL REVIEWOVERALL

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. My daughter (the bride) and groom and her parents were very disappointed with many things about the evening of the wedding reception of 9/8/07. Consistently Good Food and Service on our 3d visitMoonlight is like taking a mini-trip into the country, with its rural setting outside of Alton. The house salad dressing was excellent as was the pork chop. We could only finish part of the generous portion of fried chicken, which was also delicious-the rest will be lunch tomorrow. Our server, E, was helpful, friendly, and informative. Nice decor. We will be back again.OVERALL

Go Back to the oldI agree with everyone else. Moonlight has been a family tradition since Feb 14, 1979 when my parents had their wedding reception there. I am now 26 married with my own children. My father passed away in 1999 and I've made one effort to go back there. I was not too pleased. The whole place has undergone subltle change. I liked it the way it was.
