Whenever I am in Chicago I always try to make it for Dinner. I always ask Ed the manager to suggest a menu for my family. The food is as good as it gets, unless you are in Asia. In my opinion, this place not only serves the best Chinese food in the Midwest but it is the cleanest restaurant I have been to. It cost about 5-10% more per dish but ...

It is a very big restaurant. Plenty of seats but the price is very high for Dim Sum. Service was very poor the last time we were there but we will consider going there if we can't find anything else around.

Our favorite dim sum restaurant in the city, food wise. If it were not for the service, we would have given it 5 stars. The wait seems to favor Asian customers of American ones. We have only gotten token service there, and the Asian customers get waited on in the style that we wish to be waited on too.

... that I've been to. I've tried some of the other places in Chinatown, but this is overall the best place in terms of selection, food quality. It's a bit pricy though, but I think worth it. The only other restaurant that I feel is better in the Midwest is the Hunan Garden in St. Louis. Seems like Hunan Garden uses much less MSG ...

Traditional Dim Sum for lunch
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/29/05
A traditional restaurant offering dim sum for lunch. Waitresses push carts full of delicious food around, and the choices of dim sum are mostly traditional. Shiu mai, shrimp dumpling etc. THe wait is long during weekend. Price is average to above average. Will go there a few time with a large group of people to have a taste of more traditional dim ...
This is the place for dim sum! It is relatively clean (all of Chinatown can improve on cleanliness), has a non-smoking section, and offers great tasting items. They can also provide things not on the menu, for example, Chinese Brocolli in oyster sauce. My favorite is the deep fried egg plant, stuffed with pork. I also love the pork buns, shrimp ...

Go where the locals queue
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/05
Like another reviewer mentioned, Phoenix tends to be the place where locals and all my Chinese friends mention as a benchmark place to visit in Chinatown. It's true the long lines and wait can be offputting, so go on a weekday instead. You don't need to do just dim sum; their main menu is pretty reliable as well. As an alternative, try Hong Min or the Little Three Happiness on Cermak (not the big touristy one).

Dim Sum and then some
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/06/05
Probably the best dim sum restaurant in Chicago. You can tell by the vast lines of China Town locals lining up and waiting for seating. Definately call for reservations if you can. Vast variety of delicious dim sum plates, served in the traditional rolling cart passing between aisles. Very good common dishes like spare ribs and suprisingly ...
