Not all that it's cracked up to be. My meal was just average. I got a filet and it was gritty and dry (I ordered medium). You can get the same thing at an average buffet.

My husband & I came to Chicago from California in the mid 1980's for James Thorton's (Robocop-Chicago Bears)wedding. We had the great enjoyment of having dinner at the Chop House. The food, ambiance, and service were perfect. I believe it is by far one of the 10 best steakhouses in America. Chicago in it's self is such a great town and hopefully we will return for a vacation and enjoy the Chop House again.

This is the best steakhouse in Chicago by far. We visit Chicago a couple times a year and I don't miss going here at least one time. Try the Chop House Prime Rib! It's one of their specialties and is the best Prime Rib I have ever had in any state. Ambience is great with the old building and pictures on the wall. Service is always great but I would make reservations if I were you!

My favorite of all the Chicago steakhouses. Ambience, service, decor all better than most, food absolutely wonderful. Prices comparable with all high-end steakhouses, but worth every penny. Can't wait to get back!

The Chop House is Chicago's best steak house. The food is done to perfection. The staff is friendly, fun and very knowledgeable. This is a Chicago must if you are visiting or if you are a Chicagoan. Dont miss this dining experience, you will want to go back again and again.

This may well have been the best food/service I 've ever had. Great steak--cooked perfectly. Wait staff was awesome. Refills on water/coffee/beer before you noticed that you need one. Also, you MUST try the white pepper potatoes. Enough for 2 people. For an added good time, go to the Redhead piano bar down the block after dinner. You will not be disappointed.
