LOVELY THAI....is lovely..., :) We eat there all the time. Long time CHICAGO resident who moved to Gurnee.... now as we all know there are so many GOOD restaurants in Chicago, but I would say LOVELY THAI is a must go and must eat restaurant.

The food is great. I usually get the Pad Thai or the PaD See Ew. However, there is one waitress that works there who is very unfriendly (she is the ONLY waitress there). She ripped us off one time by giving us the dinner menu instead of the lunch menu when we went at around 2pm (lunch is until 3pm). We would be regulars if it weren't for her.

I went to this restaurant over Valentine's Day weekend. Granted, it was a "holiday"...the place was half filled when we arrived. It took about 20 minutes before someone came to get our order. We absolutly love his place. The food is always VERY fresh and excellent tasting.

They have been getting busier and busier at lunch. That happens when your food is good and the service is good.

I don't write a bunch of reviews but the one prior about bad service is ridiculous.

8 of us went there on a Monday afternoon for lunch. We arrived a little before noon. It took about 10 mins to get the waiters attention so we could order drinks and appetizers. The appetizers showed up about 30 minutes later. For the most part they were pretty good with the exception of the spring roles. Really weak, pretty small.

Now, I have always loved Lovely Thai's food. In fact, everything I've ever eaten has been wonderful. The problem is with the hit or miss service. Other than that, this restaurant rocks.

We love it/we don't love it -
Lovely Thai is inconsistent in its quality. The Lemon Chicken is a family favorite yet it is often dried and chewy to the point of being inedible. When it is good, it is very good. Other dishes seem more consistent; the vegetables are fresher in appearance and taste than many other restaurants serving this fare. ...

We love this place. We go all the time. Excellent Curry, The Chu Chi Tilapia is fantastic. try the Lovely Tofu also! Yum.

we ordered padthai and tom yom with shrimp, and it was so bad. It had some bad smell. It was different than any regular padthai and tom yom you would get from other thai restaurant.
