Masala is the best in town.They always got a great food. Even I am not a vegetarain, but I never miss the meat, when I go to MASALA. There Malai Kofta is so good. I have eaten all over the country, but this is my favorite place. I strongly recommend Masala Indian Vegetarian Cuisine, if you ever get a chance to go to Iowa City area, DON,T MISS MASALA. I can't believe all the reviews here! It was a horrible Indian place. Nothing was tasty! Everything was blend and the appearance was unappetizing. And they had flies in the room! This is the best place to eat in town!! The Lunch Buffet is a great deal and a good way to sample a bit of everything. I could eat here every single day. My husband and I love it. Reasonably priced for the quality and amount of food you get. Everyone should experience this greatness....now I'm hungry! :-)

Masala Indian Vegetarian Cusine has great vegan and vegetarian food. Everybody sould try them man they have great food and wide choic. They have a Buffet everyday 11-2:30 P.M. really great,less time and reasonable price. They have really friendly staff. If you go there couple of time, they call you by your name. The other dishes are great, but THEY SHOULD CHANGE THE RICE. The rice they offer every day is pathetic. Either it is over cooked or it is not at all cooked.
I even told them the quality of the rice by showing them once, but they dont seem to change.

I'm not an expert on Indian food, but I do know that this place is really, really good. The India Cafe is also good, but this place is better because it is all vegetarian, which if you are veg. you know what it's like to have to worry. i'm far from a vegetarian but I love Masala. They have the best Indian food I've had in the area. It's a small place so more than a few gets cozy but worth a drop by for lunch or dinner.
