Good location to stay when visiting Tikal. You can get to Tikal early in the morning without needing to get up at a god-awful hour. Decent food available. They can help arrange tours of all nearby areas.

To be Avoided, Stay in Flores

I stayed here while traveling with a group of friends - 4 total. We got one of the pricier rooms - 22/person /night. It is clean and quiet and has free internet, but a number of things really put us off.
There is no view of the lake besides from the restaurant. Don David decided to put up massive 10 ft. hedges b/n the Casa and the lake.
OK, where to start? Do I start with the great food, the incredible view of lake Peten Itza, the super service, and friendy staff, or the incredibe green garden that surrounds the hotel? EVERYTHING WAS GREAT, SPENT 8 NIGHTS THERE WHILE ON A SHORT TERM MISSION TRIP. VERY CLEAN, QUIET, AND THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD, AS WELL AS THE SERVICE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT
First of all Don David does not pretend to be the Waldorf Astoria,it is a nice clean place to stay,.the food is excellent typical Guatemalan. They were all helpfull and amienable especially Don david. i am looking forward to my next stay there this coming December.
