My boyfriend and I came into town for Halloween weekend and we decided to stay at the rusty pelican. When you enter the room it isn't what you would normally expect from a hotel--it was better! The decor is very reminiscent of a cozy cottage and instantly puts you with the feel of home. We had a lovely stay and I would recommend this place to anyone. The owners were very nice and accommodating as well.

I recently stayed at the hotel and for an older hotel, the rooms were really clean and I felt like I was home. Everything in the room matched, nicely decorated and it appeared as if the room had just been painted and remodeled. I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends. The next time I go back to Emerald Isle, I will be staying here.

Its so nice and its the sweetest place to go. If you go there you wont regret it. Its cheap and good looking.

The employees of the Rusty Pelican are very caring, always take care of your every need, i'm in love with this place, great location, within walking distance of everything that you need, anything from food to shops to the bar lol, this place is great, every day the room is cleaned and taken care of. I love this motel, the customers are very friendly and they are there 24/7. Whenever you need something they are willing to go the extra mile for you. Every chance i get to go to emerald isle i will always stay at the Rusty Pelican, plus i love the new antique shop in the lobby.

This is the only hotel I have stayed at where the front desk lady looks like Skelator. The other guy that worked there appeared to have two black eyes. Come 3am, seeing him fighting outside, we know why he has two black eyes. Bring antibiotics if you intend to stay at this gem. The place is tolerable if you are black out drunk, high on crack or ...

i have been to carolina beach, and we happened to drive by this place and it looks like it is nasty and about to just fall down! eww, who would want to stay there. and from the sound of these other reviews..sounds like a great place for a rat to stay, not public people trying to go on vacation!

THIS IS A SHABBY INN THEY ARE VERY UNHELPFUL VERY RUDE THEY LET THEIR EMPLOYEES PARTY WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS WHILE ON DUTY IT TAKES ABOUT 40 TO 45 MINUTES TO GET SOMEONE TO SERVICE YOU THEY ALSO TAKE YOUR MONEY IF YOU USE A CREDIT CARD SO DON'T USE ONE PAY CASH THEY LET OTHER CUSTOMERS GET DRUNK ANE TALK UGLY IN FRONT OF CHILDREN . TAKE FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS FOR YOUR OWN SAKE DONT STAY THERE

They charge $140 a night for a crappy hotel room. We got harassed by the people staying there. When I went to complain, the person running the front desk was one of the people upstairs partying with the people staying there. They just have the worst service I have ever seen.
