Great hotel, but overpricedBeautiful newer hotel. I've stayed twice and have been greeted by friendly staff both times. Rooms and hotel are clean and well cared for. On the most recent visit, our room had a great view. We enjoyed a roomy whirlpool suite. Best hotel in Galena!This hotel was awesome! The Irish theme is charming and the woodwork was rich and classy. The staff was helpful and accomodating and the food at the pub is the best around! I won't stay anywhere else while in Galena!2 of 2 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulOVERALL

Not worth the moneyMy husband and I recently stayed here and were were unplesantly suprised.
First, upon check in, the folks at the front desk seemed to have NO idea how to handle a gift certificate and wanted to argue with us about 'calling to get it ok'd'.

BewareMy wife and I booked a weekend online, and received an email confirmation with the reservation and the charge. When we arrived to check in, we were told that there was an 'error' and we were quoted for only one of the two reserved nights. Charming hotelThis is a great place to stay in Galena. I love the authentic Irish pub. The service is great from the front desk, spa, and restaurant. My husband and I took my parents for their wedding anniversary and my parents loved the library the best. The rooms are clean and big enough. I would go back.1 of 1 Yahoo! Not worth the moneyThe check in, the lady at the front desk wasn't sure what package we made reservations for & what came with that package. Then the Aran suite, no different than a normal hotel room. Not sure where the Irish theme is other than a sign on the door and art work on the walls. Great experience for the whole family!We made the mistake of going to Galena without reservations. This was the only hotel that would even try to help us out! The room was stunning but even better was the bar. They had live music and irish dancers, even our children had a great time! Highly recommend this hotel!1 of 1 Yahoo! AWESOME!!My husband and I stayed at the Irish Cottage for our 10 year anniversary last January. We had SO much fun and made many friends. The pub is wonderful with great food, service and music. It's where I stay in GalenaThe Irish Cottage is a favorite of mine, and has been for some time. I cannot say enough nice things about the staff there.
