I have stayed at many hotels in Carolina Beach over the last 15 years and this one has had the cheapest rate and was the most clean yet. If you are not looking for ocean front or a swimming pool, I would highly recommend this place. Mt. Vernon Inn is within walking distance from the Carolina Beach boardwalk and boat docks.

We always stay at the Mt Vernon Inn, we just park the car for free and walk 5 min to the beach. The owner, Tina, is always extremely friendly and the place has a nice ambience of summer cottage style. It's not first row at the beach, but very close to.
