After visiting Mel's Diner in Pigeon Forge many times over the past few years, I must say today was a little disappointing. I ordered breakfast and most of it was pretty good except for the pancakes which were so cold the margarine would not melt. However the real complaint I have is when a couple came in with their chihauhau. I assumed that ...

Mel's Diner is a must when you are in Pigeon Forge. My family insist on eating at Mel's at least twice everytime we visit Pigeon Forge. The food is great and the service is even better. I have had almost everything on the menu and have never had anything bad. My husband's favorite is their chicken philly sandwich. We live 2 hours away ...

I can not believe that the people that wrote the reviews below ate at the same place. I worked in the restaurant business while in school and i tend to be very understanding and passive when it comes to dining out but this was the absolute worst place I have ever eaten in my entire life. Great milkshakes!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/11/07
This place has the best milkshakes. It is entertaining just to sit on a stool and watch the staff scurry around. Convenient location.
When we tour the Smoky's we always go here! The food is great and the atmosphere is so much fun! This year they had a young lady singing live in the place and I really enjoyed listening to her. The burgers always take me back to my childhood and the diners that I ate in then!
My parents and I travelled to Gatlinburg last March for spring break. We came across this diner accidently abut instantly found it to be great! Like another reviewer has already stated the banana splits are so great! My dad just had them for dinner because they are so large! As soon as we left at the end of the week we were already planning for ...
I LOVE the food at this place. Someone told me it is what is called a greasy spoon, but if that's the case then I Love greasy spoons. I would eat there every day if I could.

Loads of atmosphere.

Mel's Diner is your home town diner away from home. The people are friendly and the food is great. The service is dependable and the atmosphere is almost like you're sitting at your own kitchen table at home.
My experience with Mel's began last summer. I went to the Pigeon Forge area to raft some demon white waters said to be ...
