USED TO BE VERY GOOD. THEY MUST HAVE LOST THEIR GOOD COOK, SERVICE FOOD IS SLIDING DOWN HILL.

I was in Norris in October 2008 for the Museum of Appalachia Fall Homecoming bluegrass festival and ate at Golden Girls 3 times in a 4 day stay. All I have to say, I have eaten at many restarants all over the US, this one ranks very high on the list. I feel the food is some of the best southern food I have tasted, service was good and the price was more than fair. If you want some really good southern food, this place is great, but like any resaurant to find this far from the ocean, seafood (flounder) is not going to be very good.

The service was very slow, My fried flounder was not cooked, and my vegetables were cold. We waited 45 minutes for our food. Dessert was not even offered.
I will not go there again.

i went to golden girls on a day trip the service was perfect the food was home town mom made dinner and the portions were large and in charge i love this place i was made to feel like a local that comes in everyday

We were kept waiting for half an hour on a Sunday night even though there were open tables and several tables were seated before us. We were only a party of 4 by the way. When we were finally seated our server was pretty good; she was friendly and got our orders correct. The food however was only mediocre. If we had it to do over again I think we'd have just gone to the Arbys next door.
