The Good stuff first--- The rooms were clean and very quiet
The staff at the front desk was nice.- The lobby is very small..and as we walked in, there were police everywhere in the very small lobby, questioning a gentleman who just got mugged..
The free breakfast was very good..quite a few choices and filled us up.
We were treated respectfully and with no problems at all. Front desk personnel was absolutely helpful, friendly and eager to please. Rooms are very clean and quiet, I would not think that in such a small hotel would be getting any quiet at all, but we did. The location is superb if you are willing to go to Times Square and the Theater District.

Great rooms, close to everything and most important they are pet friendly!....Front desk was extremely helpful and the breakfast was great.........A+++ Will stay again!........M.J. Campanelli
An older hotel with smaller rooms, but first-class service and amenities. A real deal in NYC. Just blocks (walking distance) of the Empire State Building, Times Square, Broadway, shops, food and more! A subway station right across the street, and safe...safe...safe. No worries. Enjoy New York the way it should be enjoyed!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. The location of the hotel was wonderful. It's really close to Time Square. Hotel had a great breakfest. The staff were willing to answer all of our questions.. and we had alot of questions. The rooms were alittle small but were comfortable for two people. We would stay here again!
I found this hotel the day I left for NYC! I was originally booked at the Hotel Carter and they were so rude to me I cancelled!
The HIE was an excellent location and the rooms were clean and comfy. I have a reservation to go back next year!

I have stayed at several hotels in NYC, and the new HIE is a nice contrast to the normally cramped, outdated rooms found elsewhere. My room had been recently renovated, with all new furniture and bedding. Free internet and a free continental breakfast topped it off. The location is within walking distance to the train station and all the tourist sites. I was greeted promptly, and was welcomed with bottled water and cookies in my room.
