I just stayed there for a week. I had the most wonderful time. These post below are false and unfounded. I don't understand how people can get away with writing such false statements. My week stay I got to know the staff and they were all very helpful and friendly. My room was spacious and extremely clean. I would recommend the Clipper Ship to all my friends. My family and I had a wonderful stay there without any problems.
We brought home some unwelcome guests from the Clippership inn - it took two months, many shrunk clothes (washing all in very hot water), an exterminator and a new mattress set to get rid of them. Never again.
I don't see why this motel is so maligned in the many reviews I read prior to our stay this past weekend. Is it a new place? No. Is it a first-class facility? No. It is not fancy and it's very basic in decoration. It's an older place. But our room was very clean and the staff was helpful and responsive. There was a weird ...
This hotel is one of the worst hotels I have stayed in in a long time. The room was a suite (and priced like one!) -- but it was very poorly laid out, so the extra space did us no good, and the beds were uncomfortable. The room did not seem clean. The neighborhood was very marginal and made me feel unsafe, particularly given the poor locks on ...
Every city has it's down side. The Clipper Ship Inn is Salem's dirty little secret and town joke. First choice for the under belly of life in the surrounding cities and their comings and goings. Smells of cat urine and stale smoke. Infested with fleas and other bugs.
I think when you have a guest in your hotel one they should be treated like a guest not like trash. The managment is overly rude and dis pleasent their are cats that are locked inside a room. This hotel would be the last place i would ever want to stay at again
The room was very dirty - dust bunnies and more under the beds, drawers in bureaus were dirty (I washed them before putting any clothes in), old cigarette smell, windows very hard to open, noisy neighbors all around, commuter rail train behind Inn, beds and pillows lumpy, etc. And, if that wasn't all bad enough, the owner/manager was rude and probably certifiable, and all the staff unpleasant. Sleep in your car rather than HERE.
I visit Salem Mass. at least once a year, every year for past twelve years. You do the math. Clipper Ship Inn. i my choice for all this years. This is not a hotel. Clipper Ship Inn. is a comfortable an clean motel with a great location close to historic Salem, atractions, restaurants andshopping. It is also a walking distance from the train for all ...
The close proximity to historic Salem was the main reason we stayed here. It's less than a mile walk to the Salem Common and reasonably priced. The surrounding area is run down but that's not their fault and we had no problems during our stay. Having a few cats roaming the grounds was nice and they are friendly and have collars.( They are ...
The management doesn't know how to use a simple credit card machine. They have a no refund policy with no signs or paperwork regarding the "policy". The owner/manager is quite possibly the rudest, most ignorant person I've ever had the horror of meeting.
