Have gone regularly to John's for several years now. Recently the service (at least in the bar area) is poor. In addition, the 'new' chef doesn't seem to know how to cook meats/salmon as requested. Have had to send steak and salmon back to be cooked correctly. Usually,though, the food is wonderful.

Oh my goodness, where do I begin? Ever since Shannon & Shana bought it, it is so delicious. Downtown, you get the history of a bygone era, at the Trussville location, you feel like you are in New York City. Everything is just wonderful, but especially their grilled meats.

The blackened salmon, corn grits, and smashed potatoes are unbelievable!
