Recently we visited Pops Sunset grill and would not return as the bartender, Steve totally ignored us. He asked everyone around if they wanted another drink before happy hour ended....he then left to retrieve some beer for the coolers and when we asked upon his return....he said happy hour was over. Shame o n Pops Sunset House. We typically dine there before going to listen to the drums...we will go elsewhere.

Came back to try after bad experience some years ago. Sorry to report the service and food are still poor. This is seafood restaurant for people who don't know same. They live off location and view. If it was cheap, maybe you could overlook, but it's not.

After reading the already posted reviews, it hardly seems that Pop's Sunset Grill needs any more supporters, but I will add my name to the list. The waterfront (canal) setting is very nice with passing craft adding a peaceful touch. We come down to Nokomis a couple of times a year and Pop's is our first stop on arriving and last stop before we have to return home. Fantastic food, drink and service is great. Enjoy the experience.

This place is the greatest. My favorite is the peel and eat shrimp. The beer is cold and the sunsets are perfect. The slaw should be vinegar based such as North Carolina pork barbeque slaw. The staff is very frendly and attentive to your needs. My hat is off to this "off the beaten path" Sunset Grill!

If you're looking for good seafood in a casual setting, Pop's is your place. Nothing fancy, meals are served on paper plates the drinks in plastic cups. But the food is very good, the beer and the ice tea are cold and it is right on the water. you can even dock your boat at the restaurant. Great staff Family friendly
Pop's is one of the last of its kind. One of the last great Florida seafood haunts that isn't a chain! Excellent sunsets, and cold beer. The decor is Key West funk, and the food is great. Try the Blackened Fish salad....
