A little out of the way, but great food. The grilled items are to die for. Very friendly staff. The views from the huge windows over looking the water are the best. The name Placida means peaceful place, I think that is correct. Goy and enjoy!

Wanting to get out of town and try something different, we drove over an hour to give the Fishery Restaurant a try.

The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, the food was "ok" and the views of the river are "to die for."

With reference to the staff, they have no personality. When we visited the restaurant the greeter never ...

Had high expectations, which weren't fulfilled. Great view but morose staff, quite disinterested. The 'Thunderation Platter' was horrid, just a plate of breadcrumbs and batter. Shrimp not great at all. Steak average by Florida's high standards. The only meal enjoyed by any of our party was the Snapper piccata. Very nice.
Views excellent, but sadly the food was disappointing.

Had dinner at The Fishery 1/26/09 and it was very good. We both had the grouper finger basket and opted for the salad instead of cole slaw. All the food was hot and fresh. The grouper had a light breading and was light and flakey. We had a table window at sunset which added to the enjoyment.

Highly recommend you give this one a try.

Fantastic experience!! Knowledgable and friendly wait staff. Went for lunch on Saturday and had the grouper/shrimp basket. The fish was fresh, lightly breaded and very good. Highly recommend.

the view is great. The decor is nice. The hush puppies were realy good. The french fries were good. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away as possible from the Tortuga Shrimp because the "Crab stuffing" they used was awful, didn't see or taste any crab in it, the shrimp was ok but thats about it. also the Gator was all crumbs and ...

The Fishery is a destination location, as it is not likely that anyone would find it just on a drive-by. The dining room has large western-facing windows that allow a fine view of the water and dock that is available for small craft.

The dining room is attractive in local-motif decor that suggests the name of the restaurant. Tables can be ...

  • Grouper on the sound
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/07/07
From the tin roof to the hurricane shutters around the bar this is THE place to enjoy seafood in the Englewood, Boca Grande area. Just out the back door a long dock provides dockage for patrons that arrive by boat. The south west wall of the restraint looks over Gasparilla sound. You see all the way to Boca Grande pass. This is a great dining ...

  • Out of the way --- but good
    By Norman, 03/04/07
The fishery is a bit of "old Florida" --- that we visit every winter. Informal, small, decent service and good seafood.
