I hosted a small dinner party here in April. The price was outrageous! The food portions were very small relative to the price, the owner was unfriendly, and I had a major dispute over the bill. I live in St. Augustine and will never go here again. The town has much better to offer, in my opinion.
We visit St augustine on a regular basis & one the big draws is the food. Opus 39 & its sister restaurant -The Tasting Room- offer the best food in town.It is upscale dining. If that is not your thing try one of the many other fine places in town. If you enjoy great food & wine these are the best choices. We do not go every time we are in town, but it is a nice treat.
The food experience and ambience were absolutely fantastic. Bring time. This is not a shove it on your plate and down your gut place! It is to enjoy the art of fine cuisine! An absolute must go!

for a restaurant that used to be a coffee shop and college hangout, it tries a bit too hard to present itself as upscale, thereby justifying their prices. st. augustine will never be confused with the hamptons, no matter how hard places like this try. ask a local if they go there and you will probably illicit a laugh. but if you dont belive me, try going there and not ordering their $55 prefix, and I guarantee you wont be laughing.
