I had Chicken Fried Steak and while it was tough, the crust was very good, gravy was ok. I love CFS and this rated below avg. Sides? Corn was tinny as it's canned, skip that. Order 2 sides of red beans n rice. It was wonderful and saved the meal as well as the cornbread (very good). Service was ok, she checked in a normal. Wife had the shrimp ...

Excellent sweet tea! The pumpkin bread was absolutely heavenly, and the crab cake sandwich was tasty. The blackened chicken sandwich was great, but the fries were rather tasteless.

Crowded and noisy at lunch time, but that is because they have some of the best seafood on the island. I ordered the Costal Platter, which is a great sampler of shrimp, crab cake and cod fillet with two veggies. $23. My wife ordered the Big Salad with Shrimp – excellent $11. She loved the pumpkin bread (as did I). On the downside: the ...

We live in Warner Robins, GA and my son flew my cousin, who was visiting us from PA, to Barbara Jean's for lunch. It was packed and we had to wait a while but it was well worth the wait. We had the crab cake sandwich and She Crab Soup, with hot pumpkin bread........it was delicious! Hope to go back some time in the future. FIVE STAR FOOD FOR SURE!

This restaurant should be in a larger building, beacuse of its popularity. The building is small and customers practically seat on top of each other. The staff can't get around the chairs and tables without bumping into one of them. Don't arrive to this restaurant hungry, because you'll more than likely have to wait awhile. The food is ok. There are better "southern" restaurants in the area.

This is a small St Simons location that has expanded their seating area. The food is good, consistent & the place is clean. A place to go when your hungery and just want to sit down & eat. Does get packed & some waiting in the summer months. Only regret, we don't have a place like this in Seattle's Belltown area.

I love Barbara Jean's. The food is awesome (especially the chocolate stuff) and the owners, Jim and Barbara, are two of the nicest people you could meet. They are very generous, caring people.

The food was okay but I have definately had better. Wasnt anything spectacular or impressive. Very small and seemed to be busy. Only had to wait ten minutes for a table though. Best thing about the place was the service!
