I live in Madison, and we are 100% Italian, and I can tell you the food needs much improvement.

Our experience at Amici's in downtown Madison was one of shock and dismay. The service took way too long on a Tuesday night, and the waitress made us feel less than hospitable, in fact, she was extremely rude and acted as if SHE was the Proprieter.

I hate to write this since I want downtown Madison to do well, BUT.

In 2006 I moved to Madison and LOVED going to Amici's. Then in late 2007 I stopped going, because something changed there.

Very disappointed!!!! Service was extremely slow! Cheese bread was a cut up hoagie bun with a little bit of melted cheese on it, $4.50!!!, and that was after 30 minutes of placing my order!
Food was NOT good enough to make up for the long wait or the pricey bill afterwards! I will NEVER eat there again. I will suggest The Icehouse or Ye Ole Colonial if you are looking for great places to eat in Madison.

Anyone who thinks this place is not good is just un-american. Think about it if you order, and your food takes a little time to come out, great its being prepared fresh. And Im glad the Manager seems like a bar fly, at least they are there. Stop complaning and enjoy the people you are with. The food is great I love getting the Hot Wings XX with honey.

Great restaurant!!! Food is fantastic and staff is always friendly. The managers seem to go by almost every table and talk to people. Sometimes food may take a while but that may be because they are always busy!!! I'll go there whenever I want the best authentic Italian food around.

Based on our last two attempts to go to this restaurant, we wont go back. Viewed staff playing around and not taking care of guests. We waited a long time for our food, one visit there was only 3 tables. The manager appears to to be a bar fly.

I have had the pizza and the calzone here and both were absolutely delicious. We always hit Amici's when in Madison.
