We had a bad experience with Tierra. We found a piece of a plastic sack in the black bean soup. My boyfriend almost swallowed it. But, what was even worse was the response of the restaurant. They had almost no response at all. The owner never came to apologize (he was less than 5 steps from our table the whole evening). Instead, he stomped ...
I would not call Tierra excellent in any area, except maybe dessert. Their tres leches cake deserves its reputation. The rest of Tierra is worth going on a regular basis, but there will be some hiccups. The parking is tight. When making a reservation the woman (I think one of the owners) was rather terse. The service inside was excellent. Very interesting dishes that I have not seen anywhere else in Atlanta.
The food is so unique but so easy to like. We think you'll enjoy every bit. We eat at Tierra's for special occasions, but would love to eat there every day. It reminds my wife of the restaurant in Europe.
