I have been a big fan of the Zacalo in Decatur (which sadly has now closed) for a number of years and decided to try it's incarnation in Midtown.

Sadly my experience was subpar.

The chulapas were hard, tough and completely inedible.

The portions were skimpy and eveything was very under seasoned.

My husband just recently took me to Zocalo and I was wowed! I can't go back to the same old americanize mexican restaurants anymore. I have been spoiled. Everything I tried was out of this world. The margaritas are amazing. I like the counter service because you can keep going back for more if you are still hungry! The retro decor is colorful and cool! My 7 year old enjoyed it as well. I'm going back again, and again!

I used to live in Atl and became addicted to this place! The food is fantastic, not your ordinary "mexican" dishes that most people are used to. Service is great with lots of attention. Great place for lunch, dinner, drinks after work, anytime! I highly recommend it to anyone and go back every time i return to ATL.

I've been a fan of mexican food only since I've started eating a Zocalo's. It's just such a cool place to go and hang out and eat some good food. The service is decent. Prices are reasonable and the location is just great.

This hotspot is located near a busy Midtown intersection with lots of pedestrians and activity. Piedmont Park is on the next block and a short walk. excellent place! the people are fun & friendly... the margarita's are the BEST in town... the "queso fundito" is AWSOME! and the shrimp entree's are worth taking your mom for!

Great place to go for AUTHENTIC Mexican good. They also have the best margaritas in town - ask for a Tamarind. You'll only need one!
