First time in Charleston and tried Jestine's. The home cooking was delicious! Had a baked pork chop over rice with mushroom gravy, collards, hoppin john, and pickles with cornbread and butter with honey. I'm a northerner but happen to like sweet tea and theirs is excellent. Had two desserts, banana pudding and coca cola cake. Both are to ...

My wife and I visited Jestine's Kitchen on our 9th wedding anniversary because one of my co-workers said we should try it. We expected a long wait but were pleasantly surprised that the wait was short (waited outside for about 10 minutes). My wife had the pork chops and I had the fried chicken. Our meals were not much to brag on. The pork ...

I am so lucky to have stumbled upon this place as I was in town last week walking around alone. The food was so delicious I took a picture of it, I was in total bliss. I startedd with sweet tea, warm cornbread with honey and the pickled cucumbers. Then I followed it up with a pecan crusted white fish sandwich and fries with vinegar. Absolute heave and very easy on the pocket. I will certainly go back every time I am in town.

Oh my gosh - home cooking at it's best. Pecan crusted fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, corn bread, and coconut cream pie.
Can't wait to go back!

My daughter and I stumbled into Jestine's right before a huge rainstorm...we each tried one of the daily specials, I had the beef stew over rice with cornbread and my daughter had the sweet chicken. Both were wonderful, the service was great and the dessert was to die for! Lemon custard pie and the chocolate cake! We just moved here and have found a new favorite place!

I had the Fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and mac n' chez. The sweet tea was even great. It was absolutely wonderful. The service was great and the food came out in minutes. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a good home cooked meal.
After hearing raves from everyone, including those waiting in line behind us for 30 minutes, we were eager to try this place. The pickles on the table were DELICIOUS as well as the cornbread and desserts, but the fried green tomatoes and pecan crusted whiting were flavorless. (My husband said his was fishy and his fries soggy and he didn't ...
