I ordered a shrimp burger, which I've eaten at El's drive in in Morehead City.....all of my 47 years of life, last weekend at Big Oak, and when I opened it up to look at it, they were popcorn shrimp....NOT LOCAL shrimp. I gave it to the person standing in line....for free. They advertise local shrimp on the board, and I asked the girl if they were, and she said no.....They only catch the shrimp in their fron yard for God's sake!

Terrific! If you're looking for a quick meal (no seating-either sit in car and eat or take home) you won't beat the Big Oak.
It's a shame they dropped pizza from the menu. It was terrific. I agree with others, the shrimp burgers are equally as good as the BBQ. A great place to visit!

This is one great place. Great food-fun staff-best shrimpburger on earth!!!!!!

If you think the shrimpburgers are good......try some of the
BBQ and hushpuppies. They have a hot sauce that is just
awesome. Try it on the hushpuppies.........always great
food. An old fashioned drive in with great food.
