This restaurant gets five stars for its fantastic broiled, local, FRESH fish. I've been eating here off and on for 45 years, and believe me if you want fresh local fish, this is the place. Try the bluefish, jumping mullet or Spanish mackerel, SEASONED. These fish are often on the "specials" menu and are a real bargain as they ...

Don't waste your time or money It's not what it use to be. Food is overpriced. Service is not much better. Food was luck warm when served. Had to wait for baked potato and then it wasn't cooked. Some members of our party had to ask for their sides. I will not eat there again. A trip to any fast food resturant would have been a better experience.

The atmosphere was great but that is where is stopped. The food was overpriced and minimual. A child's plate with fries and a few (5)shrimp was about $7.50. Was not impressed and will not go back.

Good Atmosphere, great service, but the food was nothing to right home to. Someone needs to introduce them to Old Bay Seasoning or something. My fried trout was bland and no taste.

For years I had heard about this place and have been really looking forward to going. And I must say, for all the anticipation, all I got was a huge let-down. The food was NOT fresh like they advertise, and for the money you spend the amount of food was small. If your thinking about eating here, don't waste your money. There are so many more places in the Morehead City area that are way better. Two thumbs down!

Sanitary Restaurant is a venerable institution in this town. Sanitary actively supports our community, our local charities and non-profit organizations. Sanitary continues to be a popular meeting site. I myself eat at Sanitary frequently. The food isn't fancy, but the seafood is fresh and simply prepared, the staff friendly and always helpful. ...

I have been going to the Sanitary Fish Market since I was a kid in the sixties and have eaten there twice within the past month. I gave it two stars because one and a half were not available- half a star was earned out of sentimentality. Long story short, the place began to decline once Tony Seamon Jr. was out of the picture. And for a place on the ...
