This is the best little sushi place. I have been going there for 10 years. The owner always remembers me and the atmosphere is great. If you are not use to Japanese manners and service you might get offended because it is different then at American resturants. The place is always packed during lunch and dinner times.

I used to go there several times a month at night. I enjoyed the food and it was conveniently located ...

however i just went there to get take out and i had the worst service I've ever had. they turned me away after ignoring me for 10 mins while they waited on 30 kids who walked in after me. and when i made that point they said it was because they had reservations. I will never go back.

second best in raleigh for old timers. we havent tried the new so-called "japanese restraurants" which is more of un-authentic and fusion meals.

  • Better then average, best I've found in Raleigh
    By chris_martens_11, 08/02/07
I go to Sushi Tsune often for lunch, and think it is very good. The ambiance is very good and I don't understand why another reviewer said it wasn't authentic. The owner is always behind the bar, and is Japanese. The quality is good, but sometimes a little hit or miss. I prefer the sushi lunch, which is the best value. The rolls were a ...

Sushi Tsune was alright. Right off, it has to be said that this place is NOT authentic. It is geared up for American palettes. I ordered a bento that was skimpy on the rice and sweet on flavor. The oshinko and teriyaki were super sweet. The tenpura was too greasy and the tentsuyu was super sweet and no oroshi daikon with it. The vegetables ...

  • Makes my mouth water!
    By Lyssa, 06/01/07
Just writing this review my mouth starts to water. When I used to live in Raleigh, I would walk miles just to get some crunchy shrimp. I can honestly say there is no other place that I will ever be comfortable enough to try their eel, which was delicious! The hostess is always wonderful and remembers her customers. There is no better sushi ...

  • Simply BAD Sushi
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 03/20/07
I read many good reviews for this place and desided to try it out. However after eating i am absolutely baffeled at the review. The sushi was of the lowest quailty. On top of the bad sushi it was actually more expensive than most fresh sushi restaurantes in the area. STAY AWAY from sushi tsune...simply BAD sushi.

  • A Magnificent Obsession!
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 12/08/06
A native Californian, I have enjoyed sushi worldwide for 25 years. From Vienna/Austria to Osaka, with stops between in London, San Francisco, D.C., and NYC, I have tried the best those cities have to offer. And this restaurant matches their cuisine offerings in almost every respect.

Every service provider has their bad days. I have been to ...

  • Best in Town

My husband proposed to me here so I might be a bit partial. :) They almost always have Toro on the menu, my favorite. The last time we went, they were slammed. They were extremely apologetic about the wait on the Sushi and gave everyone free edemame. The wait wasn't that much longer than usual. It is on the expensive side, but then you get what you pay for. Try the red bean ice cream. I wish I could buy is somewhere to have at home.

For being one of the only people at the time I went, the service was definitely lacking. I barely saw the waitress, also, found a dead ladybug in my salad, and the waitress didn't even apologize. She did refund the salad though. Sushi was okay, I have definitely had better for around same price. I will probably never eat here again.
