I live in Texas but my family lives within 30 minutes of Holt Lake BBQ. Whenever I am visiting, we make it a point to go there for dinner and we're never disappointed. When we have a big group, we eat family style and the food is delicious. Love the seafood, the chicken, the brunswick stew.... but especially the barbeque.

Barbeque is vinegar-based non-tomato sauce. Good NC style, but there's better. Slightly smoky flavor. Fried chicken is good. You can get unsweetened tea, but they'll think you're crazy. Decor is old and discolored. Large areas for groups.

We were visiting my husband's hometown and he took us here for dinner. We loved it so much, we took home five pounds and a bottle of hot vinegar. Whoever invented that needs a kiss! If they deliver overnight, I'm there! And if I ever get within 50 miles, I will come back! Hands down the best BBQ I have ever eaten, and I am a southern girl!

This is the best seafood I have EVER eaten !
Love the fried oysters and the Crab Cakes !
Oh and the baby flounder is awesome, all you can eat !
The service is great, nice , friendly , see's to your needs!

My son gets the friend chicken or shrimp, by the way, try one of the shrimp burgers, they are really awesome!
