Solid. Good sushi not great (we are in the Triangle). I think Yamazushi's sushi is better and their menu is more diverse. They do some weird stuff here but the overall taste is not too sweat and a little more authentic than most places. It's pretty good. Then again, the kaitenzushi's (conveyor belt sushi) sushi by UNC was better.
The food was pretty good. Everything was fresh and yummy. The ambiance was not great - it's in an older building that could use some remodeling. But the food, again, was good. The bill was a bit higher than I thought it would be (or should be, should I say).
Sushi & Sashimi are best in Chapel Hill/Carrboro area without question (close 2nd = Oishi). Teriyaki Steak & Chicken are also quite good. Service = excellent.
The only problem with cuisine is that the Miso Soup is HORRIBLE (I spent 5 yeras in Asia so I understand how miso should be served). The seaweed is overcooked (tastes like it's been ...
Akai hana is a pretty solid sushi experience. Good atmosphere and music. Oddly enough the dish I'm most impressed with is the flan. It's homemade and better than any of the flans I've had at our array of Mexican places, enjoy.
