Elmo's Diner seems to be a little overrated. We had a very mediocre lunch today. After waiting 40 minutes to be seated (deceiving us into thinking that we had discovered a unique eatery in Carrboro), we ordered Cheese Fries, which turned out to be crinkle fries sprinkled with a miserly serving of shredded cheese and a few scallions. Unique Ambiance and Good FoodThis place is in the upper tier of Diner food in Carrboro / Chapel Hill. It's in a unique spot in the Carr Mill Mall, with lots of red brick and a small outdoor patio. The student-waiters hustle to top your tea or bring the meal quickly. Great place for a relaxing brunch.
