I was surprised at how rude these restaurant people are to you on both the phone and when you are at the restaurant. I think the food was ok, but the personality and ugliness of the people that run it will keep me from returning.

Went here last night with a party of 5. Waitress was nice, although she was a little overextended. The crab dip was exceptional. The scallops were in a lovely sauce, but overcooked. Although I am a resident of Portsmouth,last week was my first time
eating at Lobscouser. I was with a party of 10 and believe it not there were no complaints about the food, everything a
was very good. I had the garden salad with roasted chicken and the veggies were really fresh. The prices are very reasonable. One complaint though, our orders were taken in a timely manner, but it took too long to get our food and the check!

Some dishes were quite good ie he crab soup, but over all it was ok at best, service was very poor, have been there several times and it has never been good

This place is so disgusting!!! Every time i have gone in there, there is food crusted on the dishes, calcium deposits on the water glasses, and hair in my food. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!

I was not impressed with the food. My husband and I were looking for a nice place to eat and Lobscouser appeared to be really nice. The calamari was good but as for the rest of dinner, not so great. It was really bland, not enough flavor for me. I definitely have had better seafood. My husband had the fried shrimp and had to put so much lemon juice on it just to make it edible.

Food was excellent. Seafood fresh. The service was very attentive.

The good reviews of this restaurant were accurate. There are so many seafood dishes to choose from, it was hard for us to decide. Needless to say, we will be back. The seafood was perfect and not overcooked. The sauce in the pasta was perfect. If you go before 6:30pm, there are dinner special for 7.99!!! The ambiance was good, not overcrowded or loud. Our waiter(Ross) was nice as well.
