I happen to love the bakery and was absolutly appalled by some of the reviews given. I happen to know that the people employed there are given strict instructions as to how the customer is number one and that they do whatever to keep them happy. And for the sides lays chips is what comes with the meal however you can substitute it for pasta salad, potato salad, fries, or a side salad. All you have to do is ask.

  • Great local eatery!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/03/07
I've been going to this place for years, probably since it was first opened. Exceptional food, the sandwichs are huge with everything being fresh, several different sides to choose from, all you have to do is ask. The desserts are even better, try a piece of cake and you'll want to take the whole cake home with you.

  • Great food!

I have visited Smithfield Bakery numerous times over the last five years. I have eaten both breakfast and lunch there, purchased their pastries and had their yummy desserts. It is one of the highlights of my visits to Smithfield and I look forward to more in the future.

  • bring my food without the hair
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/19/05
I'm all for getting free items with my meals but HAIR is not one of them. When I alerted the short fat lady behind the counter. She yelled at me saying," Well you're not getting it for free!!!" So of course almost lost my cool. I told her I didn't want a free one just to bring me a plate without the hair! It's a good thing my buddies were they to calm me. I couldn't believe that lady!!!!!
