Be rested when you go, the palace and environs and very large and all of it is worth exploring, except Charles V's unfinished palace. The wall and ceiling carvings are exquisite. The Generalife was gorgeous with many flowers in the spring when I was there.
I spent 4 weeks in spain last year and Granada was one of my last stops. Oh, I wish I had more time to spend in that city just to explore the Alhambra. If you are going to visit the Alhambra, make sure you set aside an entire day. It is a lot of walking but it is well worth it.

I just recently returned from Spain. I was fortunate to visit Granada. It was amazing!!! The fact of the matter is how they built these castles and fortresses without all of the heavy equipment. A must see for Spain is Segovia.... Also Corboda.. Food is wonderful, euro's aren't the greatest but the people are very friendly. Don't forget to see the gypsey's cave show..
