This is a fantastic historic site, in an evocative location on the coast less than an hour from Tripoli and it needs the best part of a day to see the punic and roman cities, the small museum and the magnificent theatre. The site is fairly tough, so take good walking shoes - and a light jacket or shawl, as it can be breezy near the port.
