    Note: The image is of the Heian Shrine, which is NOT one of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto (aka: UNESCO World Heritage Sites).

    The only one I didn't see was Koke-dera, because you need reservations, but for those who can see all 17 (14 in Kyoto), it is well worth it!

    Hitting all of the Historic Monuments is quite difficult in one trip, but you should try. Many of the monuments, like Kinkakuji and Nijojo are quite famous, but others like Enryakuji and Tokokuji are equally impressive. I recommend you see them all.
