Visited February 08, very impressive achitecture. Great place for a photographer to snap one of a kind shots. Was dissapointed by our view of the Taj Mahal would have been better with clear skys.
This is probably the finest fort in India and it is reachable from from Delhi by car or limo bus train and it is worth your time and and money it has at a time held a garrison of Jehangir and part of its walls and moat are truly awsome.
A UNESCO World Heritage monument on the Yamuna river, overlooking the Taj. Apparently most of the fort is still currently occupied by the Indian Army, which has carried on this tradition from British times. What is open to the public is pretty enough, including the marble palace where Shah Jahan supposedly spent his last days being his son's prisoner.
Has good views of the Taj across the river. Go at sunset for the Taj view.

We visited here in April 2006 as part of a day trip to Agra. It is an amazing place, full of charm and wonder and from here you can see the Taj Mahal in the distance. We had a local guide who could not wait to tell us all the history & stories he knew of here and the other places we visited on our trip to Agra.
