Loved Dubrovnik!

Dubrovnik was charming and beautiful. It has a wealth of interesting history and culture. We enjoyed the visit to the beautiful old town, and then took an evening boat ride to St. James Beach, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner on the beach. It was a beautiful evening, with the twinkling lights of the old town across the way. A very romantic location, and reminded me of Venice -- but much cleaner.
This is an amazing walled city! The highlights include the aquarium, which is built along the walls. The inside is made of stone. It's a very cool place on a hot day, but where comfortable shoes, as the floors are also stone and can be slippery. Walk around the top of the walls for the best views of the city. Other great sites include the Old ...

Home away from home

The people are so warm and inviting, the food is fabulous, what can I say, that's where my family is from so I'm biased. The beaches can be rocky but the water and the sun make up for it. Try the rakija while you're there.
The old town was amazing! you could spend days there and still not see it all! I enjoyed all of the buildings and streets that were 700 - 1000 years old! The people were very nice as well. The shopping was great also. I loved it!

I liked the food, atmospehere, prices, people, pristine clear waters of Adriatic...all of it. It is a great place for the whole family, but very romantic for a couple. There are lots of attractions and history to visit around. Make sure you take some trips to the near by islands.

Pleasant surprise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/24/06
Dubrovnik was included on our cruise and we had no idea what to expect. The minute the ship neared the city we know we were in for a wonderful day. Historic, clean, friendly, and very self contained for easy touring. The gelato was even better than Italy!
I loved this city. You must take a tour along the wall and even stop for a snack in the snack cave. From the wall you will be able to see the remains of the conflict in the 1990's complete with mortar holes still allowing you to see into living rooms of residents. You must allow yourself time to explore all of the streets and side streets. ...

Walk the wall of the city, go for a swim at the beach before or after visiting the shops. The people were friendly, prices were very reasonable. I went in July and it was very hot! But with a little more sun screen...I would do this again in a heart beat. Scenery was spectacular!
