My wife was attending her 30 year class reunion in Iron Mountain. We decided to spend a couple extra days in the U.P. and visit her alma mater, NMU, so we decided, to spend the night in Marquette, her brother also lives there. We had our two youngest with us, 14 & 9...they wanted to stay at the Holiday Inn...had a pool. I had not visited ...
Really like the selection of food and drinks and is placed in a great location. Always have Bells and fine drinks in a classy atmosphere. Great amount of food for the price. We Highly Recomend this joint.
I would say that the only hotel nicer than the Landmark in the UP is the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island.
My wife and I stayed there on our wedding night and were treated like a king and queen. I would gladly pay the extra $20 a night to stay here than anywhere else in Marquette.
Being downtown and close to the water is just an added bonus.

Very Disappointing

The hotel didn't live up to the hype. There are much more comfortable and inexpensive places in Marquette to lodge at. The beds were as hard as concrete. We switched rooms, because the first room we were given was in shambles (ripped bedspread, broken furniture & broken fixtures). The front desk was very rude, and didn't want to give us ...
The Landmark Inn is a beautifull old hotell with a royal flavor and romantic feel. The rooms are all themed and quaint, and the food brings dining up from a mere meal to an experience. Be prepared to drop a prety penny here though as this is the Only 5 star hotell in the Upper Peninsula

Sore back

Hardest bed I ever slept on. A slab of concrete would have provided more cushion. Other than that, the hotel is nicely decorated and has a spectacular view of the harbor. Restaurant has very good food, though pricey for Marquette. Meeting rooms on the lower level are poor.

Marquette's best place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/06/06
A wonderful turn of the century hotel. Great view of Marquette. Rooms wonderfully remodeled. Their chef: Mike has been there for years. Excellent menu selection. Cozy bar.
Sitting atop a hill in downtown Marquette, a historic, mining, forestry, and shipping industry town, it has fantastic views of the town and that great fresh water ocean, Lake Superior. A top floor cocktail lounge is a great place to unwind after a hard day of work while taking in the panoramic view of Lake Superior.
was there for our honeymoon and they did nothing extra for us and then they forgot to charge the flowers to our room after we checked out and then called us about 3 weeks later to tell us we owe them for the flowers
