Been there twice and like everywhere else in Baltimore, the crabs are expensive, but darn good. The "Hot and Spicy" steamed shrimp was excellent as well, even the steamed bits of onion were great. The Maryland Crab soup was good and spicy, next time I'll try the Cream of Crab. Stick with local seafood and daily specials and you'll walk away smiling.

Based on previous comments, this may be a great place to eat crabs, but my experience is that the meal was overpriced for a below average meal. My cream of crab soup had no taste. The crab cake was dry - also no taste. The rack of ribs had promise taste-wise....but they were served cold. The waitress was nice which was why I gave her a decent tip. However I won't be going back.
The crabcakes are great, the crabs in the summer are big and heavy, and the other meals we've had at CJ's have been good. It's not a white tablecloth place, just good seafood with a wait on the weekends with not too many frills. Their jumbo boiled shrimp with onions and crab seasoning are to die for.

This place is one of my favorites! Its a nice place to surprise someone and maybe have a romantic dinner, or even to sit at the bar and crack open a few crabs! Everytime I go I try something new and I have not been dissatisfied yet and the service is pretty good for it to be as crowed as it is sometimes.
