Diverse, eclectic not sure what to call this place. Very tasty.
I went to Cafe Routier expecting french and I ended up dizzy with the different choices of menus. I loved their lounge and the small plate menu. Very NYC lounging without the frommage. I guess they change menus often and we ended up selecting from the Miami to Havana menu and I had ...

small plates in the lounge, three menus to choose from in the dining room, great wine by the glass menu, desserts to die for, global menus that change often, funky acid jazz lounge, great date spot. Very difficult parking and not enough bathrooms. We love this spot. I agree, always changing, always different. Love the jazz lounge music scene

This new yorker was impressed. On CT shoreline to visit boyfriends parents. Cafe Routier is their favorite place. You could pop this place down anywhere in the city and it would thrive. Beautiful interior

My husband and I have found our spot. Lounge with Tapas plates and diverse wine list reminds us of our younger years in the village. The dining room menus change all the time and keep things fresh for us. Either side of the building works, although it's a bit crowded on weekends. Tiny westbrook may have one of the funkiest spots in CT

for my proposal. After the Lobster, Chanterelle, sweet corn ragout over baked corn cake & the beach plum glazed duck breast - She said yes.

This is my favorite restaurant on the shoreline and now they have added to the many reasons to visit with a great new upscale lounge. Great food, drinks and atmosphere make this the perfect spot for a date night or girls night out.

I felt like I was eating the best of my grandmother's food. Tasty and succulent. The lamb Paillard, followed by crispy duck confit salad, then the wild boar duet. Wonderful dining experience.

Heard a lot about this place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/20/06
In the middle of nowhere and in winter time, who cares about proximity to beach BUT ----
It was worth the warming up the car in the driveway for the wifer and my wife loves it because the seating is intimate and for once you can't hear the table next to you. And all this doesn't matter much because the chef's menu is a varied, jumbled mess of global cuisine which leaves my taste buds singing like the three tenors channeling Seal

We went out with some friends that live near Cafe Routier. We had never been...
What a great time. Menu was a bit diverse, but I guess that's what they do. I agree with other posts. Very cozy and fun.
