The ride itself wasn't too bad, but it's probably not what you'd expect. The cars are very under-powered for San Francisco, and our car would sometimes start out okay, but then loose power to the point we could barely get moving on a slim incline. I apologize to all the SF drivers that had to deal with me. Also remember that you're ...

Worst way to see san francisco
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/25/09
These things break down easily. They are also very dangerous, you have go as slow as possible or they will roll over. Worst of all they use a smelly, noisy, lawn mower style engine that will make you and the environment around you very sick... An expensive way to have a horrible time in the city.
I rented the GoCar for a day. Midway through the tour we approached a hill. The car started slowly dying slowly so we had to push the car up an entire hill to avoid traffic. They gave us a replacement car, which came 1 hour later. We drove back to the station to cancel the entire tour. The attendant nickle and dime'd us and told me to call the ...
These go carts are a lot of fun. Totally worth it if you have the extra money. I can't wait to go back

Disaster and Danger

The first two cars we got didn't have working navigation. They told us that the tour would take 2 hours. 3 hours later we were 2 hours away and the go car people called yelling at us. We got lost, cold and were told to abandon the car on the street in a strange city. I had my 11 year old son with me and he was scared and cold and later got ...

The Best Way to See San Francisco
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/10/07
This was certainly the most fun way to see and visit the sites of San Francisco. The cars were comfortable and you couldn't get lost because of the GPS. Plus the cars have a little trunk so you can take a picnic along and stop and eat.

GO CAR HORROR STORY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/07/07
Go cars gets no rating, they were SO POOR. the guy who manages the place is so run off his feet that he is sweating and flustered and all over the place. we were going to hire a bike from them, but decided the go car looked exciting...we should have opted for the bike ride! the engine on car 1 didn't start straight away, and when were going up ...

And I thought I did not want a tour!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/09/07
So I heard about this company from TV or some magazine some time ago. When I saw them by chance in San Fran I had some time and gave it a go.
All I can say is WOW. Fun fun fun. This thing should be in every city. I don't like tours, but this I guess is a tour. It is an amazing concept.
Why would anyone get on a tour bus again after trying this out????

A MUST!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/22/07
My boyfriend and I spent the weekend with a friend in San Fran. She had to work on Friday so we were on our own. We rented a Go Car, without a clear expectation for how long we'd want to tour. We went for about 6 hours and could have entertained ourselves for a few more hours! The tour takes you to all the major sites, but also to some ...

Watch Out!

Last time we were in San Francisco, we rented a scooter at the same location the go cars are at on the warf. We felt so safe and had a blast, we were gone the same amount of time as we were on the go car this time around. About 5 hours... It is a great way to see the city but I wish they hadn't gotten rid of the scooters...they were so much ...
