Forever my place!When I first moved to DC in 1979 the first place I was invited to eat was Mama Ayesha's. She was still there, overseeing everything from her table near the kitchen. What a woman! And I've watched all the artistic improvements. It's my very favorite place to bring out of towners. Everyone raves about the food, service and the ambience. It is absolutely top notch. Great ambiance and service, food needs some workI heard this place, though a long-standing local establishment, was a real dump before it was remodeled a year ago. Now I would describe it as one of the best restaurant atmospheres in Washington. On the inside there are arabesque doors and ironwork, faux candle chandaliers and luxuriously upholstered benches.
