This restaurant used to be a lot better compared to others, but has gone down significantly in quality since the 1990s while its prices have risen.

Absolutely amazing. I start with either Honey soy roasted duck breast with mustard miso, grilled baby octopus, or edamame (all delectable) and then have the chicken teriyaki with cherry tomato salad. The service was great. I myself do not like sushi much, but my friends wanted to order sushi but didn't know what type to get. The waiter gave what seemed to be great advice and they also thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great service - OK sushi. Maybe I should have something more adventurous than the nigiri sushi sampler which was average - nothing spectacular. Generous portion of edamame. Maybe the fish is better on nights other than Tuesday.
The sushi was good, and very well priced. Good service.

It was so small, ...
Overall the sushi in DC isn't great but this place is as good as it gets and the closest thing to West Coast or Hawaii you are going to find in DC. Very good. As close to Japan as you will find in DC. A great place to get sushi!
