Great place to have lunch and a beer in DC. Even better for a Friday 3;00 p.m. confab with the politicos bragging about leaving work early, grabbing a drink, and heading for their weekend retreats. Amazing what you will hear.

I agree wholeheartedly with Steve S. The real Old Ebbitt Grill was incredible in all respects. As Steve points out it is now very good, very expensive, and has none of it's original ambiance. I will always remember the spot at the bar that was reserved for that salty old timer whose name I have forgotten...what a place it used to be. I also could afford it then!

The BEST RUEBEN SANDWICH I have ever eaten. They also have a fantastic martini.

I've been to the Ebbitt Grill on numerous occassions and absolutely love it. The restaurant is beautiful, the wait staff is great also. The food is fantastic. It's worth every penny you spend (and you will spend lots of pennies here). We always make reservations when we go and i highly recommend you do otherwise you'll wait and wait and wait.

Went to this establishment a couple of years ago. I thought the place was charming. I did get the crab cakes for dinner, I was not impressed. The best crab cakes I have ever had was at this little hotel in Delaware. I would recommend this place though, other food was good, and the service was impeccable.
