Jessops is a great date place. I highly recommend it for a romantice evening. It is a unique dining experience unlike and far from going to a chain restaurant. A good place to say you've dined at. Good to take out of town guests to relax at the bar because of the history and charm the building holds.

The food was excellant. I strongly recommend the Colonial Pot Pie and the Shepherd's Pie...wow! The atmosphere is charming and quaint, like stepping back in time. Hands down one of the, if not the, best places to/at which I have ever been/eaten.

Disappointed

Bar service and kitchen service was far too slow. After a one hour wait in a virtually empty restaurant, the prime rib steak was inedible and the vegetables were overcooked. Very disappointed. Will not be returning.
Try Jessops a relaxed ntimate colonial style tavern in fact the building was built in 1724. The is hearty comfort food, Iowuld recommend the Shepards Pie or the Fush and Chips best on the eastern seaboard. And if you like Belgium Ales they have one of the best selections in DE hope to see you there
