The food for the most part was tasty. Service was a tad slow: staff seemed unenthusiastic. No umbrellas for out door dining ( lost in a storm- not yet replaced). Dead bugs on top of night lighting-does any one care! Seems on the brink of closing. Shame : a cute place. Overpriced.

I was impressed with the setting; it's just breathtaking..Not to mention the food. Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the Grilled Steak. Surely a place to visit if you're in Brandywine.

My wife and I went for her birthday. We both got the house salad, it was fine. Bread and homemade butter was so good I asked for two plates. Kitchen seemed slow, but when her Filet Mignon and my Veal arrived it was excellent. Coffee was great, topped off with chocolate cake for her and delicious cheesecake for me. Was a terrific place years ago. Returned for dinner. The bartender was as enthusiastic as the melting ice on the raw bar with no conception of service. This visit was an off night. Table for 2 with no one else in the dining room. A group with 5 small children is seated directly next to our table. Obviously a mistake by the soon to be 17 year old hostess. I have returned several times to the likeable front bar, a new bar keeper is a must.

OK - I think these other people were at the wrong restuarant. The bread is baked in-house. It is pumpernickel, not rye. and it is superb.
