After a really bad start at the Layne hotel in Jones Street I found the Twin Peaks. Ok, it's not the Dorchester but it's in a decent area and I found the staff to be really helpfull. I moved in at short notice. I'd stay again.
I'm staying long-term here until I get a job and an apt. I can't afford--nor do I want--anything extravagant.
There's nothing fancy about Twin Peaks, just a room, a bed, a TV, a sink and facilities down the hall. It's old, but clean and very affordable, especially considering the prime location in the Castro near Church and ...
the reasons to stay hear are the location (same block as muni station) and price (cheap especialy if you book for a week) I stayed in october the room was small, tv didnt get a clear picture and the bath is across the hal and my room was up 3 flights of stairs with no elevator. The positive lots of restraunts in area, most with wi-fi, could walk ...
I needed a place to stay for my one night stay in SF and I chose this place because it was inexpensive. BUT, I will not go back there ever again! The room is small! You have to walk down a hallway to be able to use a bathroom and/or shower. I was really grossed out with waking up in the morning to find cockroaches roaming around in my bed.
Made reservation 3 weeks in advance, during that time they raised the price of my room TWICE. I canceled reservation and am filing a complaint with Better Business Bureau and Chamber of Commerce. Wish I had read these reviews before I made reservation!
I just moved to San Francisco and my roommate and I are staying here until we can find a place. The hotel smells awful, like Indian Curry. We had to light a candle. There were two people staying the room, yet we still had to pay for a second pair or keys. They said 'NO VISITORS ALLOWED!' We haven't had to communicate with the staff ...

Very rude staff. After seeing (and smelling) the place I decided not to stay there - I'd had a reservation for about 10 minutes; the time it took to walk there from 18th and Castro. When I politely told the owner/keeper that I wasn't going to stay there, she said she was going to charge me anyways, even though I wasn't going to stay ...

Better Than You'd Expect

Location! Location! Location! On Market Street, a block from Cafe Flore and several blocks from Castro.
The room was cheap, worn, and clean, management seemed to be around a good bit of the time, and the building seemed safe. Shared baths and toilets.
The Castro area firehouse is just behind the hotel, so the rear rooms have little street ...

I stayed there 3 days and the location is good and the last time I was there was like 7 years ago. The room was not ready at 1pm which they promise. My room was cleaned around 3pm.. I stayed in the room with the private bathroom which the shower head faces the door so when you turn on the water careful that you dont get wet and wet the ...
