This is overrated, and is really more of a landmark and a tourist spot to go. All they really have going for them is good fries. We stood in a long line to get a $9 sandwich that was mediocre. No flavor and no service, if you don't order right, they send you to the back of the line, till you learn how to order their way. Not worth the time, we ...

Way better than Ginos, not as good as Jim's. That being said, still a fine sandwich.

Whats all the hoohaw. Convicts made our sandwich (genos wasnt any better), they put juvenile cheese wiz on it and condiments were absent. "What the heck you mean no condiments!!!". So much for those shows promoting food joints.

Drove 2 hours from Baltimore to try the cheese steaks and what a waste of time! The person taking the order was obnoxious and rude. The cheese steaks were tasteless, the meat portion was small and the bread was tough...it must have been a day old. They are not worth the 7.95 price tag at all.

I had moved away from the area for several years and had fond memories of getting some of the best cheesesteaks of my life at Pat's. My return visit was a disappointment -- unevenly cooked meat and stale bread. I think all the volume has seriously eroded the quality at Pat's.

After a long night of beer drinking and bt's, i had a steak at pats followed by one at geno's 5 minutes thereafter. Both were spectacular for obvious reasons.

I'm from the Suburbs in Delaware County about 8 miles from South Philly. Ive been to all these Steak places and they're just ok in my opinion. Sometimes, I find, the local Mom and Pop's places are just as good if not better. For Shear volume of meat on a roll, along with great taste, in my opinion, its hard to beat two places. ...

    (Orginally posted March 2008)
For 30 years I wanted to go to Philly & find the best Cheese Steak. Finally making it there this spring, myself and a coworker decided to visit the 3 most popular haunts in walking distance from our hotel downtown.
    We decided to hike to Geno's, Pat's and Jim's. Geno's was ...

i grew up in philly all my life, and i have to say pat's is the king of steaks, geno's on the other hand has really horrible service, he thinks his steaks are made out of gold, let me tell you, their steaks are horrible, they don't even chop them up. it's like shoe leather!!! $15.00 for two cheese steaks, a little pricey, but well worth it!!!!!!!!!!
